It's Not Just a House

One afternoon while Scott and I were visiting the Mesquite Street house and viewing the construction progress, one of the workers with a black sharpie marker in hand introduced us to the tangible tradition of writing Bible verses on house framing to bless the home in a meaningful way.

This nudge prompted us to really begin praying over this house and specifically each room. There were days when we went to Mesquite Street just to spend time in prayer. I remember entering rooms and asking the Lord what He would want me to do with a particular room and praying for the people who I imagined could fill that room. My mind would then be led to a certain Bible verse, and that's the verse I would write on the stud.

Scott and I acknowledge and understand that the Lord has been working and orchestrating all of the steps for us to get to this point of building this home on Mesquite Street, and we are thankful. We pray that many people will come to our home and that it can be used by many.
