Pouring Concrete

Pouring the concrete foundation is a milestone of building a home and one that is highly anticipated! The concrete truck was coming early that day, 6:30 am to be exact. Scott and I pulled our car up to the playground parking lot, and I remember seeing Mesquite St. filled with trucks and their bright headlights, as it was still dark. The towering crane was used to move the concrete from the pumper truck to the hard- to-reach sections of the foundation.

With coffee travel mugs in hand, we hopped out of the car to sit at the playground and watch the festivities. The excitement was readily felt by all!

I’ll never forget seeing Boaz, our builder, and Scott, excited and happy while quite ably making sure everything was going as planned!

At the end of that morning, a concrete pad was set in place, it was time for lunch, and we were a huge step closer to our dream of having a new home in Dallas, Texas.
